Is this the oldest building in Ohio ?
The Old Stone Fort is rumoured to have built in 1679 by the French Explorer D'ibenville. the French were exploring the region and burying Lead plates to mark the territory. The Native American Tribes in the region had buildings long before this one so the argument for oldest is really moot point in my mind.
For me the firing ports (windows) are neat to see: Since they are on ground level and the interior is accesible you can get a good feel for what fighting was like in the time period. From the inside you have a good field filed of fire but many blind spots. From the outside you get a very small target and you arent really sure where you could sneak up on it. All around an interesting site.
