The Rivers and Trails
The rivers and trails were the first superhighways of their day. Many towns have sprung up along their routes and they were the prinicipal methods of travel until we built canals.

The Canals
Ohio had over 1000 miles of canals in operation from the 1820's to 1913. The canals moved people and goods across the state like the highway system does today. Today the canals are being restored and are used as a park system the towpaths are being used again by bicyclists and hikers.

Railroads
The Railroads crossed Ohio and served as a major means to move people and goods.

Highways and Automobiles
Today this is our most common form of transportation. Ohio has been involved with road construction and automotive production from the start.

Aviation
